Over the last 14+ years, we have helped numerous families relocate to Middle Tennessee. Because of the recent growth and strong economy, more and more companies have moved, or are considering moving, their operations to Middle Tennessee. Every person I have assisted in their move has absolutely loved this area as a place to call home. As an expample, we have seen many of the Tennessee Titans football players stay here after their retirement from the game because they recognize the excellent, local amenities and the quality of life.
One of the more significant and high profile corporate relocations to the area over the last few years has been Nissan North America, the Japanese car manufacturer who began car manufacturing in Smyrna, Tennessee in the 1980's moved their national headquarters to the Cool Springs area of Franklin in 2008. Mars Petcare, marketing pet foods and products under the name of Pedigree, also chose to relocate their national headquarters to the Cool Springs area. There is also a very significant regional operation for Verizon Wireless in Cool Springs.
The local economy is very strong and diverse. There is also a significant presence of other industries with regional and national operations such as banking, insurance, and health care. Nashville and Franklin are homes to many health care companies of all sizes. Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), one of the largest for-profit health care companies in the country, is located in the West End Avenue / Centennial Park area in Nashville. Vanderbilt University, one of Nashville's largest employers, is a significant contributor to the economy offering a nationally renowned curriculum on the undergraduate and gradute level as well as the wonderful work being done each day at the Monroe Carrell Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
